And now for a holiday...

Got home from the trip and pushed through with twisted ankle and all. Must admit, I haven't done much but eat, drink and shop for Christmas.

I did get a 17 miler in last Saturday. Ouch! That hurt! I knew it was going to hurt simply because I had only done 13-14 miler in Saipan. So to jump to mile 18 was asking a lot! My IT Bands certainly "crapped" out on me and I walked the last mile to prevent myself from getting hurt. I felt ok the next day. And even could do my offseason train with 20 Lb weights-no prob.

This weekend I'll do 12 miles, but I'm starting to become a weekend warrior and that scares me.

Need to get back on schedule next week. It might be easy since I can "work from home". So, here is my plan:

Mon-run (Christmas)
Tues- Spin
Wed-swim/run
Thur-run/spin
Fri-Yoga
Sat-18 miler/yoga
Sun-ride/run

I'm taking Reliv and it's supposed to help my migraines and my appetite. So, continue to eat right... no more rich foods (dear god!)

I miss my vacations and ability to put more workouts in!

Home Again!

Just got back into town this morning and after the LONG flight... I'm exhausted. The rest of the trip rocked!

Monday 11/27: I was pretty lazy! No core workout, no swim, but lots of R&R. That night we went on a Sunset Cruise where Mike and I were told by the entertainment that for the night we were "honeymooners". I guess that serves us right for going on a sunset cruise. Anyway, later that night (and after the Buoy Bar) I came down with food poisoning. It was a bad scene for me (Mike just slept on through it all).

Tuesday 11/28: NOTHING but sleep! I think I slept 20 hours in the 24 hour period. Managed to get down bread and water, but couldn't even get out of bed without wiping out my energy.

Wednesday 11/29: After Tuesday, I took it easy. I was holding down food more easily and even managed to take a sailing lesson. At the end of the day, no workouts... but I was impressed that I got some Chinese food in later that night with Russ, Kanae, Angela, Bill, their kids and Mike.

Thursday 11/30: Starting to feel better. Helped Mike with his swimming lesson and did our Core workout.

Friday 12/1: Headed out for Scuba Diving with Russ. Enjoyed some R&R, then went out for one last formal dinner with Russ and Kanae at Seaside grill. Wound up at the Buoy Bar for drinks.

Saturday 12/2: Up early for the "Tank to Tank Duathlon". Awesome race! We swam around the two WWII tanks in the ocean, then transitioned for our run to the Japanese WWII tank on Beach Street. I finished in 55 minutes (couldn't catch the girl in front of me to save my life!). After that, we headed off to a quick breakfast and change of clothes... and went ATV'ing. That was great! Russ's friend gave us a guided tour of the island and even included a stop at a local farmer's lot... after getting attacked by turkeys, and enjoying some fresh coconut juice we moved on. Next on the list, Go Cart racing. Russ easily took first, me second, Kanae third and "Grandpa" Mike took the scenic route. Back to PIC to eat, change, pack and move onto the Hash Harrier's Run.

Wow! The Hash run actually takes more details: We met at the First Bank of Guam parking lot and had about 50 people. Then we were told to head down to Tank Beach. From there after ceremony, etc we headed off after the hares... we ran down to the beach, into the water and "swam/ran" our way along the cliffs, climbed up to the jungle terrain and through amazing landscape (coral, vines, heavy jungle and some people's back lots). Finished back where we started and all agreed it was a pretty cool course. The count: Shannon twisted right ankle, Mike dislocated shoulder, Russ hurt groin, and Kanae twisted both ankles... WE HAD A BLAST! And besides, nothing a little beer couldn't fix. Off to the "religion" and initiated Mike. Since it was their 1150th run, we chowed down on tons of food, tons of alcohol and enjoyed a DJ! With plenty to drink (and drink) we headed on to another party for a quick hello and took Mike home to taxi off to the airport!

Sunday 12/3: It came too quick, but I had to end my travels! I had a blast visiting my family and wished I could spend more time with them. After some minor troubles with the flight home (and a fat swollen ankle) I got home in time to meet my coach for the Core Training session. Now off to bed...

Next Week:
Swim 2x's
Bike 1-2x's
Run 4-5x's (based on ankle)
Yoga 2-3x's
Core 2x's

Back on schedule with my eating habits. Trying something new, Reliv, for my migraines. Overall, feeling stronger and rejuvenated!
